The Department’s clinical activity is currently focused on the study of the breast, the chest, the abdomen, the pelvis, the skeleton and the cardiovascular system.

High quality sectors are represented by:

• Mini-invasive functional diagnostics of breast cancer;

• Secondary prevention of lung cancer;

• Non-invasive imaging of the coronary arteries (both at a prevention level in subjects at risk and as regards the follow-up in stenting and coronary bypass surgeries);

• Pre- and post operation assessment of vascular aneurysms, mainly the thoracoabdominal aorta aneurysm (TAAA);

• Study of the carotid arteries and the intracranial circulation (polygon of Willis);

• Study of the “neo-angiogenesis” based on a “perfusion” technique;

• Study of the focal liver lesions in cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic Patients;

• Study of the endometriosis, the gastroesophageal reflux and the gastro-intestinal diseases, even those with chronic inflammatory genesis, in collaboration with multi-discipline teams;

• Virtual colonoscopy and bronchoscopy;

• Study of tumours of the kidney and the urinary system based on the UroTC methodology;

• Guided CT operating procedures.
