The Gynaecology OperativeUunit is characterised by its particular care and attention to gynaecological (benign and malignant) pathologies and for the high specialisation in laparoscopic surgical treatment of these.

The Gynaecological Unit deals with the medical and surgical management of benign gynaecological pathologies such as endometriosis, fibroma, polyps, uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, metrorrhagias, preneoplastic lesions of the cervix, condilomatosis, uterine malformations, sterility, general infections and pelvic inflammatory disease.

However, malignant pathologies are referred to the Oncological Gynaecological Unit that deals with the diagnosis, surgical treatment and follow-up of neoplasias of the gynaecological apparatus.

Highly qualified staff cooperate daily in order to ensure that the patient has the highest level of medical, surgical and psychological assistance within a healthcare environment, in which the human aspect of the pathology, as well as the exclusively medical one, becomes of primary importance.

Our Gynaecological Operative Unit has been recognised, on both national and international levels, as having the role of Centre of reference in the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain. The clinical approach involves other specialties (surgery for any problems linked to intestinal localisation; anaesthesia for the therapy of pelvic pain, urology for vesical and/or ureteral concerns; psychology; radiology for imaging diagnosis).

The secretary will notify the patient of the pre-admission date at the same time as notifying the admission date; these examinations will be carried out on average two weeks before the operation.
