The ward and the Day Hospital for Orthopaedics and Traumatology are located on the fourth floor of the Sacro Cuore Hospital complex.

The entrances are divided into:

– Entrance D: for patients coming from the First Aid Station to the Plaster Cast Room

– Entrance F: for patients coming to the Prosthetics Clinic and the Day Hospital

– Entrance G: for ordinary admission and visits to patients

Our department has 60 beds, 10 of which are Day Hospital.

The rooms all have climate control and private bathroom.

Upon request, and based on availability, single rooms are also available, where you can stay for the duration of your admission. These rooms are available upon payment of a daily rate (for rates, click here.)

We have an operating theatre on the department floor for outpatient operations and a further three operating theatres, working Monday to Friday, for planned operations.

There is a Plaster Cast room, providing service 24 hours a day, for patients sent from the First Aid station for examinations and health services.

TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

Orthopaedic examinations carried out through the National Health Service (under prescription) and orthopaedic examinations carried out privately in the hospital must be booked in the Outpatients’ Clinic. .

TO BOOK ADMISSION

Admission can only be booked following examination by one of the orthopaedic doctors within our hospital structure.

To book admission you MUST:

1. Send us, via FAX (+39 045/601.3361), the prescription that the orthopaedic specialist issued during the examination and your national insurance number

2. Contact the secretary’s office

Patients under the age of 14 will be booked a bed in paediatrics, next door to us.

Each admission requires pre-operative examinations. The date for the examinations will be notified when admission is booked.

Please remember that patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

One relative may stay overnight to accompany the patient after the operation only in the event of: major surgery (prosthetics, fractures, femur fractures) and underage patients and must be agreed with the charge nurse who will evaluate any exceptional reasons. For all other types of operation, one person may accompany the patient during the day, but they must leave by 9pm. Other friends and relatives can visit the patient during the following visiting hours:

-weekdays (from Monday to Saturday) from 11:00am to 12:00pm, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and from 8:00pm to 8:45pm

-Sundays and holidays from 11:00am to 12:00pm, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and from 8:00pm to 8:45pm
