Outpatient urological appointments carried out through the NHS, with prescription and payment of the ticket, are to be booked at the Outpatients’ clinic.

Urgent outpatient urological examinations are carried out at the First Aid Station of the “Sacro Cuore” hospital, where the first aid doctor, having verified the urgency of the clinical case, will send the patient to the department for a consultation.

Private urological examinations undertaken at the hospital (upon payment) are to be booked at the  Outpatients’ clinic.

To book an appointment with the Head Physician (Dr Stefano Cavalleri), please contact the department secretary (+39 045.6013488) from 8:30am to 12:30pm or the central bookings office (+39 045.6013257) from 7:30am to 7:30pm.

Ordinary admissions may only be booked by the Department Doctor, at the time of the outpatient examination. Subsequently, the patient is added to a computerised waiting list that follows the criteria of clinical priority. Patients are then notified by telephone or email of the date of admission and how to access our Department.

Patients are admitted via the First Aid Station only for urgent urological pathologies. In these cases, once a patient has been seen at the First Aid station, he can be examined by the urologist who will then decide whether to admit the patient or not.

On order to optimise your hospital stay time, all pre-operatory examinations will be undertaken before admission. You will be notified of the date of these examinations upon booking. Please remember that patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

For all operations, the patient may be accompanied during the day by one person, appointed by the patient themselves; this person must follow staff instructions and leave the room and the ward by 9pm. Patients may receive visitors during the following visiting hours:
– weekdays: from 11:00am to 12:00pm, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
– weekends and holidays: from 11:00am to 2:00pm, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

In the event of major operations or in special circumstances, the family member may ask staff permission to accompany the patient overnight.
