ACTIVITY OF INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY UNIT
DIAGNOSTICS
- Coronarography
- Right catheterism for diagnosis of valvular, congenital diseases, dilatative heart diseases, pulmonary hypertension
CORONARY INTERVENTION:
- Angioplasty
- Stent angioplasty
- Rotablator: rotational atherectomy, an angioplasty procedure that uses a kind of cutter to pulverize the calcium and enable stent placement in particularly calcified lesions
- Coronary shockwave
STRUCTURAL CARDIOLOGY
- Interatrial defects closure
- Patent foramen ovale closure
- Aortic valvuloplasty
- Auricle closure in collaboration with the Electrophysiology and Cardiac Pacing Unit
More than 90% of coronary procedures, both diagnostic and interventional, are carried out through the radial artery instead of femoral one. It is one of the highest cases in Italy. A huge benefit for patient who can move independently right away (while remaining under observation for a night). Furthermore the vascular complications are drastically reduced.
