NEUROLOGY CLINIC

Clinic with physicians in rotation (the choice of specialist is not allowed) that provides first level neurological specialized examinations. It is possible to access this kind of examination for any neurological problem with the authorization under Italian Healthcare System. The priority is regulated by the prescribing physician. The issue of examination report is immediate.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND DEMYELINATING DISEASES CLINIC 

Veneto Region accredited Center for prescription of front-line immunomodulating therapies, the clinic deals with, under admission system, the diagnostic framework of multiple sclerosis and differential diagnosis with other demyelinating diseases (rachicentesis, neuroimaging, study of Visual Evoked Potentials VEPs, Somatosensory Evoked Potentials SEPs, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials BAEPs) as well as acute phase therapy both for inpatients and external patients in charge of center. The issue of examination report is iimmediate.

HEADACHES AND CRANIOFACIAL PAINS CLINIC

Center dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of headaches according to the IHS (International Headache Society), EHF (European Headache Federation) and SISC (Società Italiana Studio Cefalee – Italian Headache Study Society) guidelines. The diagnosis is made on the basis of ICHD-III International Classification Headache Disorders. In case of finding of chronic headache with drug abuse the ordinary admission for deaddiction and detoxification is scheduled. The issue of medical examination is immediate.

NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASES AND AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS CLINIC

The clinic takes charge for diagnosis, treatment and follow up of patients affected by neuromuscular diseases (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myopathy, polyradiculitis neuritis, myasthenia, polyneuropathies) both at inpatient and outpatient level.

PARKINSON’S DISEASE AND DISORDERS OF MOVEMENT CLINIC 

Clinic dedicated to diagnosis, taking charge and follow-up of patient affected by Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, chorea, tremor and other disorders of movement. Management of disease advanced stages. The issue of medical examination is immediate.

STROKE CENTER AND PREVENTION CLINIC

For cerebrovascular diseases, besides the activity under admission system, an outpatient system of prevention and management of oral anticoagulant drugs is available. In these clinics the follow-up of afterstroke patients is also performed. The issue of examination report is immediate.

EPILEPSY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT CLINIC

The clinic deals with diagnosis and treatment of adult epilepsy (age> 16 years-old) with activity mainly carried out under outpatient system and, in particular cases, even in hospitalization system. The activities are: electroencephalography (EEG) both standard and at rest after sleep deprivation, therapeutic management and follow-up of patient both clinically and from the perspective of laboratory and instrumentation.
It offers consultancy and EEG monitoring for in-patients of Severe Brain-damaged Unit (Intensive Rehabilitation), Permanent Vegetative State and Intensive Care (with EEG posts and evoked potentials managed by the technical and medical staff of Neurology Department).

NEUROPHYSIOLOGY SERVICE

The Service provides its activity both under outpatient system and for inpatients admitted within the facilities of Cittadella della Carità. The Service is equipped with 5 online registration points deployed in different buildings (Neurology – Sleep Disorders clinic – Severe Brain-damaged Unit  – Ground floor Ospedale Don Calabria – Intensive Care – Vegetative state Center). Every registration point is autonomous to carry out electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), evoked potentials and magnetic stimulation.
