BEDS
The inpatient ward was recently reorganized and consists of 9 independent rooms equipped with air circulation and ultrafiltering device in case of possible respiratory isolation for 14 beds. Among these 9 rooms, 2 are set up for diseases that require a high isolating regime and facilities/general practitioners (GP).
ACTIVITY
The inpatient ward is aimed at persons who need diagnosis and care for tropical diseases and other infectious diseases and/or imported. It collects maybe the widest national tropical diseases (especially the parasitic ones) and travel case record; furthermore it follows patients with infectious/parasitic diseases not necessarily related to international travels.
The ward access may take place in urgent or planned mode. The urgency is managed by the Negrar’s Hospital or other hospitals Emergency Department. The planned admission follows the outpatient access to the Infectious-Tropical Diseases and Microbiology Department (DITM) or after direct contact between the ward or other facilities/GP physicians.
