OUR MISSION
The surgery is an important step in everyone’s life and almost always is accompanied by a negative experience, consisting of a mixture of anxiety and fear.
Our primary goal is to, in the context of excellent medical-surgical services, try to solve our patients’ problems, minimizing the negative impact traditionally transmitted by admission, particularly in surgical wards.
For this reason we work daily to perfect minimally invasive treatment procedures and to study new approaches to comprehensive patient management for reducing anxiety, fear and ailment.
In this perspective, with a particular attention to our youngest patients, in October 2008 we started a pilot project named “Ospedale senza paura – Hospital without fear” whose first outcomes were presented at various scientific congresses.
OUR DATA
In 2017 our team treated 3980 outpatients, provided 1721 emergency services and performed 2096 surgeries.
Based on the most recent data, approximately 23% of patients treated in our Department come from other Italian regions and over 40% outside Verona’s Province.
To provide our patients with the best care for oncologic diseases, since autumn 2008 we started an international collaboration with Professor Heinz-Georg Schroeder, Director of the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic of Braunschweig and teacher in the Marburg/Lahn University (Germany), our surgical consultant for the most demanding pathology.
Our team is also committed, from educational and scientific point of view with publication of articles on magazines, to organize conferences and professional development courses.

BEFORE ADMISSION
Admission information
Informed consent
Below the list of most common “consent forms to surgery”.
The INFORMED CONSENT is a necessary document to be operated, which the patient must read and understand, in which we explain in simple words what will be done in the operating room and potential complications.
The forms are results of Otorhinolaryngology Italian Society work and, as such, they are the most current and used in Italy.
These documents often frighten, because the patient finds a series of possible complications listed, related to surgery to undergo, in part even serious.
However it must be considered that, mostly, these are rare or very rare events, which, according to current legislation, we must show to our patients.
I invite you to download the form and read it carefully in order to discuss its contents with pre-admission physician.
